GGL006 - The Covenant, Heroes, and Serenity

This is a long episode! If you don't have an mp3 player, you may want to listen to this one in chunks. But don't put it off! Important stuff in here for all geeks, especially fans of Joss Whedon and Serenity!

Just a note, please use ITunes version 7.0 in order to see the video, any older version than that will not work.

Yeah. Upgrade beforehand and get all your info in order. I had so much fussing that I had to actually enter my code twice (the first ran into an updating username/password input problem).

_It_ said the material had downloaded, _I_ don't have it, I tried entreing the code again and _it_ said the code was already used.

Y'know what? Monday's practically here. I'll just watch it then.

Just ... big heads up, guys. :)

Arrrgh! I should totally have thought about the fact that the old version might be problematic. Well, I held a few codes back just in case of technical glitches, so I can send to you guys again this evening if you'd like.

And for everyone else, remember to upgrade first. I know some folks are nervous about upgrading to 7 due to a number of bug reports on the Apple website (which is one of the reasons I didn't want to encourage people to get the new version). All I can say is that I upgraded a while ago and have had zero problems so far.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback! Kev, stop back and let me know whether or not you were able to get things to work (and, if so, what you thought of the episode).

It is currently downloading right now, so it appears that I won't need a backup code. The reason why I think I didn't have a problem is because it didn't start download until I downloaded the new version.

Well, I'd planned to make a new blog entry today with links to some cool Serenity swag, but it seems that the suits are wise to me. As of today, the main Libsyn page (which I have to use to make new posts and changes to my site) is blocked by our coroporate firewall.

Oh well, I'll just have to save my info and put it up when I get home.

Meanwhile, Kev, you'll have to let us know what you think of "Genesis."

We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the "Serenity" release and, not entirely coincidentally, TOMERBASH'05.

No, actually I'm still not sure. We're really hurting financially at the moment (ripples from Heather's period of joblessness) but I'm hoping that we can scrape together enough to at least download Serenity on iTunes (if it's there, have to check) or PPV. Maybe buy another DVD (there are always more people to give/loan it to).

It also might be a good time to redouble the guerilla marketing efforts. Start bringing Firefly and Serenity up in conversations again, especially with folks who wouldn't ordinarily see a scifi show.

I honestly do plan on putting up links to some Serenity merchandise, so keep an eye out for that as well.
